Family Winter Fun in Central Park

kids sledding

Make the most of the rest of the 2011 winter season by taking advantage of all the great activities for kids and families in New York City. Take the little ones to the gentler slopes of Central Park's Cedar Hill, and take yourself and your older/more adventurous offspring to the Park's Pilgrim Hill, widely acknowledged as some of the best sledding in NYC.

 kids ice skating

While you're in Central Park, don't forget to take the kids for some scenic ice skating at Trump Wollman Rink. You can even get your kids started with their Learn-To-Skate program, and it's only $5.50 for children under 12 to skate. Or you can head over to Bryant Park's Citi Pond where the skating is FREE--but the rentals are not. You can always bring your own skates.

central park zoo winter

Of course, no trip to Central Park would be complete without a visit to the park's petting zoo. FREE for children under three. There are also FREE art shows at the Park's Arsenal Gallery, and FREE exhibits at the Charles A. Dana Discovery center.

dylan's candy bar

Finish off a great day (that will surely have them sleeping by bedtime!) with a trip to Kid Heaven; Dylan's Candy Bar. Try the Cookie Derbie Caramel or other varieties of hot chocolate, especially made to please your kid as well as the kid in you!
