In a recent article on Teri Tynes' blog, Walking Off the Big Apple, she writes about the overlooked pleasures of the "Walk to Bellevue and Beyond." Next time you have visitors, or just feel like seeing your old neighborhood with new eyes, take a stroll down the 20s along first and second avenues.

Start your walk at "Curry Hill" on E28th Street along third avenue to sample some of the city's best Indian food. (Make a pit stop at Kalustyan's on 28th and Lexington for one the finest Middle Eastern/South Asian spice selections in New York.) Head east on E27th Street to get a good look at Bellevue Hospital, the oldest public hospital in the United States.
Cross the overhead pedestrian bridge on E25th street, just pass first avenue, to see stunning views of Queens, the United Nations buildings, and the East River from Waterside's two-acre landscaped plaza. Round off your tour with a windy stroll along the river, taking in the culture, history, old and modern architecture, and most of all, peace of Bristol Cove living.
