
The Waterside Swim and Health Club's Swim Sharks team was such a hit with the kids last year that Head Coach Radenko Miskovic and the rest of the pool crew have expanded the program to include more ages, more sessions per month, more events and races.
The Waterside Swim Sharks is a program for kids that's as much about learning as it is about fun, as Coaches Miskovic and Jorge Martinez teach new strokes and techniques, offer guidance and encouragement, and organize friendly competitions with other swim clubs around the city. Not only do the children think the whole thing's a blast, but a season with the Sharks also instills a sense of independence and confidence in the water that will last a lifetime.
The Swim Sharks fall session begins October 4; the parent orientation is next Wednesday, September 22nd, at 5:30 in the Group Fitness Room upstairs at the Swim and Health Club. The program is designed for children from ages 4 to 12, of all abilities, and the class times and costs are as follows:
Guppies
Who: 4 - 5 year olds (maximum 5 students per class)
When: Fridays from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $100.00 for 4 classes a month
Sting Rays
Who: 6 - 8 year olds (maximum 20 students per class)
When: Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m.
Cost: $150.00 for 8 classes a month.
Sharks
Who: 9 - 12 year olds (maximum 20 students per class)
When: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $200.00 for 12 classes a month.
