Sneak Peek: Fall Fitness and BODYPUMP

 

 

Ok, so it's not exactly news that the Waterside Plaza Swim & Health Club--located, by the way, right outside your front door, so no excuses--offers its members one of the most sought-after cardio-strength classes in the world (literally!), the international sensation BODYPUMP, from the New Zealand fitness geniuses at Les Mills.  

 


 

BODYPUMP by Les Mills is terrific for a ton of reasons. The 60-minute barbell class works all of your major muscle groups by using time-tested weight-room exercises--squats, presses, lifts, curls--in a pattern that's been proven effective in more than 70 countries and, no joke, some 10,000 health clubs and gyms around the planet. The workout is designed to improve both strength and endurance, as well as burn the maximum number of calories. The music is awesome, selected and mixed so that each song (or section of a song) coincides with a separate exercise: eight different tracks for eight different muscle groups, plus appropriate tunes for your opening warm-up and closing cool-down.   

 


 

Best of all, BODYPUMP never gets boring because it changes all the time. Every three months Les Mills releases a new program, both the music and the choreography, so just as things might start to get a little stale, you get pumped up all over again!
