This Saturday, June 5 (or, if it's pouring, this Sunday, June 6), is Waterside Plaza's annual Recycling Day. We've already highlighted the electronic recycling stations that'll be on hand, courtesy of the non-profit organization PerScholas, as well as the FREE fitness classes for kids and adults. Now here are more ways to get rid of things you no longer use in a environmentally responsible, and possibly even profitable, manner.

There are a couple of reasons why this is exciting.
1. You'll find incredible bargains on all sorts of items, from books, movies and games to clothing for everyone to toys, furniture, kitchen gadgets, sporting equipment... you name it, it'll be out there on the plaza, sold both by your neighbors as well as outside vendors. This is shopping at its most economical, and, because of the overall convivial, communal vibe of the event, it's also shopping at its most fun.
2. You can make some money by selling the things that you don't use anymore in the same aforementioned convivial, communal vibe! If you want to set up vendor area, just register at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the Flea Market (most likely Saturday, but if it rains, it'll be Sunday) in front of building 30. You will need to supply your own tables, blankets, chairs, etc., and there is a $10 vendor registration fee.

If you're not interested in selling your gently used clothing, bags, towels and linens, but still want to clean out your closets and drawers, the clothing-recycling pros Wearable Collections will be on hand to accept any and all donations. So rather than add to the 365 MILLION pounds of textiles that are thrown away/wasted each year in New York City, you can hand over everything you'll never use again and, through their long-established networks, Wearable Collections will distribute it around the world to people who need it most, in turn enabling them to raise money for charitable organizations. The Wearable Collections station will be located on the Plaza next to the ATM machine, in Building 25. For more information about the organization, please click through now to wearablecollections.org.
And that's it! See you on the Plaza this Saturday (or Sunday, if it rains).
