Hope you've been saving up your appetite all week, Waterside crawdaddy lovers... we just realized that Crawfish NY is holding their Fifth Annual crawfish boil fundraising event, this weekend, May 15 and 16, at Waterside neighbor Solar One, right there on the water! This is a benefit boil, so prices are kind of steep: $75 gets you all you can eat and drink, and it looks like there'll be plenty of both. The beneficiary of your generosity (besides a presumably happy mouth and full belly) is Kids Need A Melody, an organization dedicated to providing free music classes, instruments and concerts to young children living in the shelter system.

The epic two-day feast will be highlighted by 1,000 pounds of the New Orleans "mudbugs" cooked up each day with potatoes, corn, sausage, and lots of seasoning. Also on hand will be plenty of appropriately NoLa-themed booze, including Six Point Brewery beer and Crystal Rum Hurricanes. The hours of the boil are Saturday, May 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 16, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

For more information, including advance ticketing, please see the Crawfish NY website, here.
