The Gramercy Theatre

Founded in 1937, the historic Gramercy Theatre has had a long and interesting career, spending 60 years as a movie theatre and art-house before being renovated as the city's largest off-Broadway playhouse. In 2006, Live Nation converted the space into an intimate concert venue, and today it hosts some of the best contemporary musicians on the scene, including Macy Gray and Rufus Wainwright. This Friday, January 27, Jaimoe (pictured above), the founding member of the legendary Allman Brothers Band, will be performing his usual unique blend of jazz and rock with the Jaimoe Jasssz Band.

Another highly anticipated show coming to the Theater on February 8, The Summer Set (pictured above), is an interesting pop-punk band growing in viral popularity across America. The Gramercy Theatre is that rare smaller concert venue that showcases eclectic, quality performers in a space that allows for both general admission standing room and seating in the back with a sound system that accommodates for both.
