The pedestrian entrance to Waterside is via the footbridge which is on 25th Street over the F.D.R. Drive.
The automobile entrance to Waterside is at the 23rd Street intersection with the F.D.R. Drive.
Pedestrian Overview
The M-16 bus departs from the southerly and northerly end of the Waterside complex at designated bus stops. Departing at very short intervals, the bus travels north to 34th Street, west on 34th Street to Eighth Avenue, north on Eighth Avenue to 43rd Street and west again to Ninth Avenue. On its return trip the M-16 travels south on Ninth Avenue to 34th Street, east on 34th Street to Second Avenue, south on Second Avenue to 23rd Street, and finally, east on 23rd Street directly to Waterside.
The Wall Street Express Bus (X25) stops at the 23rd Street intersection with the F.D.R. Drive, leaving approximately every fifteen minutes, weekday mornings from 7:20 a.m. until 10:10 a.m., with the last stop at Battery Park. The bus returns to Waterside beginning at 3:15 p.m. until 6:20 p.m. The MTA bus information phone number is (718) 330-1234.
The 23rd Street (M-23) crosstown East/West, and the First Avenue uptown and Second Avenue downtown buses (M-15), are all within walking distance of the community.
The (1) subway line is located at 7th Avenue and 23rd and 34th Streets, the R subway line is located at Broadway and 23rd Street and the (6) subway at Park Avenue South at 28th and 33rd Streets.
Directions to Waterside Plaza
Location: Waterside Plaza is located East of the FDR Highway, on the East River between 25th and 29th Streets. It is north of the Gulf gas station, the Marina and the United Nations International School and south of the Water Club. Waterside Plaza consists of four high-rise towers, 20 townhouses and retail spaces surrounding a central plaza. Visitors to Waterside Plaza can access the apartment towers and stores on the Plaza, three stories above Street Level. A pedestrian ramp on the South end of the complex and an escalator to the north are the best ways to access the Plaza Level.
By Car: Go all the way east on 23rd Street, passing under the FDR Highway. Take a left onto the FDR service road and bear right almost immediately to enter Waterside?s access road. (Stay to your right after your left turn as the right is less than 200 feet after turn). Drive under the building overhang.
Our parking garage, operated by Five Star Parking, is located at the end of the building overhang on the right. An escalator to the Plaza Level is located immediately north of the garage entrance.
On Foot: Walk east on 25th Street (towards the FDR Highway). Just before the FDR, you will see a footbridge that goes above the FDR Highway. This leads directly to the Southern side of the Plaza Level. OR Walk to the end of East 23rd Street, and cross under the FDR highway. Walk North on the service road past the Marina and the UNIS school. Take the ramp just north of the United Nations International School or the escalator further north to reach the Plaza level.
By Bus: Waterside Plaza is the last stop on the M16 Bus. The M16 route begins at 9th Ave. and 42nd St. It travels South on 9th Ave from 42nd to 34th St. It travels East on 34th St. between 9th and 2nd Ave. It travels South on 2nd Ave btwn 34th and 23rd St. It travels East on 23rd St. After crossing the FDR Highway, exit at the first City Bus Stop. Reach the Plaza level by taking the ramp near the bus stop or walk North under the building overhang, past the Five Star Parking Garage to the pedestrian escalator. ALTERNATE: Take M15 or M23 to 23rd St. and 1st Ave. Transfer to M16 or follow ?On Foot? directions.
By Subway: Take the 6, or N/R trains to 23rd St. and then follow the ?On Foot? directions.
